**Manila, Philippines** – Ride-hailing giant Grab Philippines has announced it will fully cooperate with authorities investigating the alleged robbery and sexual assault of a Vietnamese passenger by one of its driver-partners.

The incident occurred on September 5th when the victim booked a Grab ride. She was reportedly shocked when the driver allowed another passenger to enter the vehicle. The second passenger then allegedly stole her P35,000 cash and mobile phone before sexually assaulting her inside the cab. The driver subsequently dropped her off in Parañaque City.

Following the report, police apprehended the Grab driver in Cabuyao, Laguna on September 7th. The victim’s mobile phone was recovered from the vehicle.

In response, Grab has permanently banned the driver from its platform while the investigation continues. The company emphasized its “strict zero-tolerance policy” toward any form of misconduct and its commitment to prioritizing the safety of both passengers and drivers. Grab stated that it is implementing rigorous driver-partner screening and training, utilizing advanced safety technology, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies to enhance safety measures.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has warned Grab that negligence in this case could result in sanctions, including a potential suspension of its app for at least 30 days.
