**Washington, DC – September 12, 2024** – The National 4-H Council has announced the addition of Karis T. Gutter to its Board of Trustees. Gutter, currently Head of Government and Industry Affairs for Corteva Agriscience, Americas, brings a wealth of experience in agriculture, sustainability, food security, and public service.
Gutter’s career spans both public service and industry leadership. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, held positions in local government, and worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative director. He also served as Deputy Undersecretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“Karis’ extensive background in agriculture and commitment to public service will enhance our efforts to ignite and inspire the next generation of leaders,” said Krysta Harden, National 4-H Council Board Chair. “We’re excited to have his talents, leadership and experience as a Board member.”
Gutter expressed his enthusiasm for joining the 4-H Board, stating, “I am honored to join the 4-H Board and contribute to its vital mission of preparing youth for their career and life.” He further stated his commitment to leveraging his experience in agriculture and public service to support 4-H’s mission.
Corteva Agriscience, Gutter’s current employer, has been a long-standing partner with 4-H, supporting initiatives such as the 4-H Pollinator Habitat partnership and employee volunteer efforts.
