**New Delhi, India:** India’s Paralympic gold medalist, Navdeep Singh, was showered with praise and appreciation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his return from the Paris Paralympic Games on Thursday. The javelin thrower, who clinched the gold medal in the F41 category, enjoyed a fun interaction with the Prime Minister at his residence.

Navdeep, known for his viral celebratory video after securing the gold, was playfully teased by PM Modi who remarked, “This is the person whose reel went viral the most, alongside Sheetal Devi”. The athlete, who presented a cap to the Prime Minister, also requested an autograph on his left arm, his throwing arm. PM Modi readily obliged, signing his jacket.

The interaction, captured on video and shared by PM Modi on Instagram, showcased the athlete’s humility and dedication. PM Modi also inquired about Navdeep’s viral video, noting his aggressive performance and asking how he managed to maintain such intensity. To which, Navdeep responded, “Last time (Tokyo Paralympics), I had finished fourth. Before leaving for Paris, I had promised you, so the promise has been fulfilled.”

Navdeep’s victory in Paris was a testament to his hard work and perseverance. His initial silver medal was upgraded to gold after the Iranian athlete who initially won, Sadegh Beit Sayah, was disqualified. Navdeep’s impressive throw of 47.32m at the Stade de France marked a redemption arc for the athlete after his fourth-place finish in Tokyo.

The Indian contingent of the Paris Paralympics met with PM Modi at his residence, receiving accolades for their achievements at the Games. The warm reception served as a testament to the nation’s pride in its para-athletes and their remarkable achievements.
