**Bangalore:** India A, after facing a precarious position at 93/5, clawed their way back to 288/8 at stumps on day 1 of the Duleep Trophy against India D. All-rounder Shams Mulani led the fightback, remaining unbeaten on 88 runs.
Tanush Kotian also contributed a crucial half-century, while cameos from Riyan Parag (37) and Kumar Kushagra (28) further bolstered India A’s score. For India D, Vidwath Kaverappa, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh each claimed two wickets, while Saransh Jain and Saurabh Kumar took one wicket apiece.
The match started promisingly for India D, reducing India A to 93/5. However, Mulani and Kotian formed a crucial partnership, steadying the innings and rebuilding the score. Mulani’s resilience and Kotian’s determination turned the tide in favor of India A, setting the stage for an interesting day 2.
