**Dublin, Ireland -** US late-night television host Conan O’Brien has won an Emmy for his “Ireland” episode of the travel show “Conan O’Brien Must Go”. The episode, which aired on HBO Max, won the award for Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.
O’Brien and his co-writers were recognized for the episode, which saw the comedian travel to Ireland and even make a cameo appearance in the Irish language drama “Ros na Rún”. During his visit, O’Brien filmed the winning episode of his travel show and appeared as a “delivery man” in Season 28 of TG4’s “Ros na Rún”.
The “Ireland” episode competed against four other nominees, including “How To With John Wilson”, “Jim Henson Idea Man”, “The Jinx – Part Two”, and “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy”.
The travel show, which has been renewed for a second season after critical acclaim, features O’Brien visiting four different countries: Norway, Argentina, Thailand, and Ireland.
The “Ireland” episode, which is available to watch on HBO Max, features O’Brien visiting the Barack Obama Plaza in Tipperary, learning Irish slang in Dublin, and tracing his ancestry with a genealogist.
