**Blairgowrie, Scotland -** Police in Perthshire have confirmed the discovery of a body in the Glenfernate area of Blairgowrie, believed to be that of missing hillwalker Ross Kinghorn. The 57-year-old had been reported missing since January 2023, after setting out for a hike in the Beinn a’ Ghlo hills near Bridge of Tilt.
Kinghorn, who travelled from Linlithgow, West Lothian, had been last seen on January 16th at around 9am in Blair Atholl. Personal items belonging to him were found during a search operation near Bridge of Tilt, leading to the ongoing investigation.
While formal identification is yet to be completed, the family of Ross Kinghorn has been informed of the discovery. Police Scotland have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The discovery brings a conclusion to a long and difficult search for the missing hillwalker, though the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
