The BJP has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent meeting with US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, accusing him of aligning with “anti-India” forces.
The party claims Omar, the first African refugee to join the US Congress, has made “anti-India statements” and is “notorious for speaking against India.” They point to her visit to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) organized by the Pakistani government and her alleged sympathy for the Muslim Brotherhood and Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi further alleged that Omar supports the creation of a separate Khalistan and Kashmir. Amit Malviya, head of the party’s IT department, went even further, calling Omar a “Pakistan sponsored anti-India voice, a radical Islamist and an advocate of independent Kashmir.”
The BJP also criticized Gandhi for his statements on the Sikh community in the US, which they claim have been endorsed by the banned Khalistan terror group, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). They accuse Gandhi and the Congress of actively working to “destroy India’s social fabric.”
Gandhi’s meeting with Omar has become a focal point of political debate in India, with the BJP using it to paint him as an ally of those seeking to harm the country’s interests. This event further fuels the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and the Congress, highlighting the increasingly polarized political landscape in India.
