Mon Sep 09 14:50:38 UTC 2024: ## RED Digital Cinema Unveils New Global Shutter Technology at IBC 2024

**Amsterdam, Netherlands – September 12, 2024** – RED Digital Cinema will showcase its latest cine-broadcast solutions at the 2024 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, including the highly anticipated debut of the V-RAPTOR XL [X] and V-RAPTOR [X] cinema cameras, both featuring the revolutionary Global Vision technology.

The V-RAPTOR XL [X] and V-RAPTOR [X] boast a large-format global shutter sensor with Phantom Track technology, providing filmmakers with unparalleled capabilities for capturing natural and organic imagery, particularly in challenging lighting conditions. Global Vision offers a wider dynamic range (over 20 stops) and extended highlights mode, enabling the camera to capture details in extreme highlights with smoother and more subtle highlight roll-off.

Phantom Track dual-capture technology allows the camera to record two distinct scenes simultaneously, simplifying virtual production setups with GhostFrame or frame-remapping. The live monitoring feature provides on-set viewing of either scene, enhancing real-time workflows.

RED also introduces the new RED CINE-BROADCAST MODULE, compatible with the V-RAPTOR XL [X], V-RAPTOR [X] and standard V-RAPTOR and V-RAPTOR XL cameras. This module unlocks live broadcast capabilities with up to two channels of 4K 60P (HDR/SDR) over 12G-SDI and is IP-broadcast ready, supporting SMPTE ST 2110 (TR-08) and 4K 60P JPEG-XS feed.

RED’s commitment to pushing broadcast boundaries further includes the new Broadcast Color pipeline option for the DSMC3 camera lineup, allowing for live painting and color matching in broadcast or streaming environments using traditional broadcast controls. This new functionality, available via a standard firmware update, enables real-time control over painting parameters and saves the information per frame in the recorded file’s metadata.

Visitors to IBC 2024 can experience the V-RAPTOR XL [X] and V-RAPTOR [X] cameras, the RED CINE-BROADCAST MODULE, and other innovative technologies at RED’s booths 8.MS14 and 11.C28.

**RED CEO Keiji Oishi stated,** “RED is proud to be at the forefront of global shutter technology, and we’re thrilled to present these advancements at IBC. Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of image capture technology and bringing the RED cinematic look to broadcast is truly exciting.”

IBC attendees can also find RED’s technology showcased at various partner booths, including Dell, Fujifilm, INFiLED, ROE Visual, Absen / Brompton, AOTO / VP Nordic, Kino Flo, Matrox, Skaarhoj, Mo-Sys, and LG.
