**Nashville, TN** – Comedian Nate Bargatze is bringing the spirit of Nashville to the nation this December with a new holiday-themed variety special airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The show, set to be taped on November 21st at the Grand Ole Opry, will feature Bargatze as master of ceremonies, guiding audiences through a mix of stand-up comedy, pre-taped sketches, and musical performances.
The special marks a homecoming for Bargatze, who began his comedy career at the Grand Ole Opry. He’ll be collaborating with SNL’s Mikey Day and co-head writer Streeter Seidell, known for their work on the viral SNL sketch “Washington’s Dream,” which Bargatze starred in during his October 2023 hosting debut.
The special is a joint venture between CBS, Bargatze’s production company, The Nateland Company, and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. The team behind the show promises a family-friendly experience that captures the heart and spirit of Nashville during the holiday season.
“I’m extremely excited to be creating this special as I have long been a big fan of variety, and we don’t see enough of it!” said Bargatze. “I want to make a great show for families to gather around and watch together and I couldn’t be in better hands than with this team.”
The special will feature a variety of acts and segments, focusing on family, fun, and feel-good moments. More details about the special, including its title and air date, will be announced in the coming months.
Bargatze, hailed as “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up” by The Atlantic, is currently the #1 earning comedian in the world, according to Pollstar. He continues to break venue attendance records with his “The Be Funny Tour” and his fourth special, “Hello World,” was Amazon’s most-streamed original comedy special in its first 28 days.
