**Swansea, Wales -** A 20-year-old physics student, Iwan Cotgreave, has been awarded the Young Ringer of the Year by the Carlisle Diocesan Guild. Cotgreave, who has been bell-ringing for over a decade, is passionate about the niche hobby, explaining, “One of the fantastic things about this is the freedom I get to create.”

Cotgreave spends his time ringing near his campus in Swansea, as well as participating in regular practices in Dalton and Barrow-in-Furness. His dedication to bell-ringing was recognized by his Tower Captain, Andy Pollock, who secretly nominated him for the award. Pollock praised the hobby, stating, “It’s one of these hobbies that just connects with people in lots of different ways.”

Cotgreave’s award is a testament to his commitment to bell-ringing and serves as inspiration for other young people to consider this unique activity.
