Mon Sep 09 15:26:52 UTC 2024: ## CRED Cancels Jackpot Win Worth Rs 3.25 Lakh, User Threatens Legal Action

A Delhi resident, Aviral Sangal, is furious after CRED, a fintech company, canceled his jackpot win worth Rs 3.25 lakh, which included a MacBook, iPad, AirPods Max, and a TUMI bag.

Sangal, a loyal CRED user, participated in the Friday jackpot and was initially ecstatic about winning the grand prize. However, his joy was short-lived when CRED informed him that his win was canceled due to a “technical glitch.” The company claimed there was an error in the system that prevented the prize from being awarded.

Sangal was understandably upset and frustrated by the sudden turn of events, especially after providing his PAN details for TDS payment. He took to social media to share his experience, tagging CRED founder Kunal Shah and expressing his disappointment.

CRED attempted to appease Sangal by offering to credit back his coins and providing Rs 1,000 cashback as a “goodwill gesture.” However, Sangal refused this compensation and demanded a public apology from CRED for the mistake and the honoring of the prizes for all affected users.

Sangal later revealed that the issue was even bigger than first reported. CRED informed him that a “bug” in their system affected 200 users who won the jackpot. Instead of rectifying the issue and honoring the winners, CRED chose to cancel the jackpot altogether.

Sangal is demanding a public statement from CRED addressing the issue and fulfilling their commitment to the winners. He also hinted at exploring “legal options” if necessary to ensure justice.

CRED, however, has remained silent on the issue. This incident has sparked outrage among users, raising concerns about the company’s transparency and accountability.
