The European Space Agency (ESA) and national ESEROs are inviting students to join the 2024-2025 Climate Detectives project. This exciting initiative empowers young minds to explore Earth’s environment and climate, using real Earth Observation data.
**Two categories cater to different age groups:**
* **Climate Detectives Kids** (up to 12 years old) provides fun, hands-on activities, allowing students to learn about weather vs. climate, seasons, and more. They can earn badges and become certified Climate Detectives Kids.
* **Climate Detectives** (up to 19 years old) offers a more advanced experience where students conduct full-scale scientific investigations. They choose a local climate or environmental problem, collect data using satellite images and other Earth Observation tools, and share their findings with the community.
**The program offers:**
* **Real-world experience:** Students work like real Earth scientists, using authentic data and methods.
* **Community engagement:** Teams collaborate and share their findings, fostering awareness on a European level.
* **Rewarding experience:** Top teams are invited to an exciting event at ESA’s Earth Observation site in Italy.
**Registration is open now!** Visit climatedetectives.esa.int for more information and to join this impactful program.
**By becoming Climate Detectives, students contribute to understanding and protecting our planet’s future.**
