Wed Sep 11 17:15:07 UTC 2024: ## HUAWEI Unveils Mate XT: The World’s First Tri-Folding Smartphone

**HUAWEI has finally unveiled the Mate XT, the world’s first tri-folding smartphone, at an event in China.** This groundbreaking device features two hinges, allowing it to fold into a triple-screen foldable. Unlike clamshell foldables, the Mate XT folds like a book, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold, though it has a more distinct Z shape.

**When folded, the phone is 12.8mm thick.** Despite having three screens, its size is comparable to modern two-screen foldables. Unfolded, the Mate XT transforms into a massive 10.2-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2232 x 3184, a 16:11 aspect ratio, and LTPO features. The unique hinge design also allows users to reduce the screen to a 7.9-inch mode.

**HUAWEI has not revealed the processor powering the device, but it will have a Kirin 9010 5G chip or above, enabling satellite connectivity.** The Mate XT boasts a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope zoom lens. Despite its thin design, the phone features a sizable 5600mAh battery with 66W fast charging.

**Currently, the Mate XT is exclusive to the Chinese market, starting at CNY 19,999 (around US$ 2,809) for the 16GB/256GB variant and reaching CNY 23,999 (around US$ 3,370) for the 16GB/1TB model.**

This groundbreaking device is sure to shake up the foldable phone market and could redefine the future of mobile technology.
