Tue Sep 10 14:37:00 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah’s Bowling Prowess Praised: Former Pakistan Cricketer Says He’d Threaten Batters on Cement!

India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has received high praise from former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali, who believes Bumrah’s unorthodox action makes him a threat even on cement pitches! Ali, speaking on his YouTube channel, declared that Bumrah’s deception and accuracy are unparalleled, setting him apart from other bowlers who rely on form and rhythm.

“Even if you play Bumrah on a cement pitch, his awkward action could deceive batters,” said Ali.

Bumrah has consistently defied critics who doubted his ability in Test cricket due to his unconventional bowling style. He boasts impressive figures, averaging just 20.69 with a strike rate of 45.1 in the longer format. Ali highlighted Bumrah’s ability to take wickets in clusters, often picking up three wickets after taking a crucial scalp.

“He comes in, takes a wicket, and then picks three in his next spell. He is very deceptive, his slower one is accurate. He picks wickets on deliveries that you usually bowl in white-ball cricket, making him truly special,” added Ali.

Despite his impressive form, Bumrah was surprisingly overlooked for the vice-captaincy in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, suggesting the BCCI and former captain Gautam Gambhir might be looking for a long-term captaincy option.

Bumrah is currently poised to achieve the 200-wicket milestone in Test cricket, having already claimed 159 wickets in just 36 matches. He will lead India’s pace attack alongside Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and debutant Yash Dayal in the Bangladesh series.
