Los Angeles, CA – December 30, 2024 – As fans eagerly anticipate the finale of “Stranger Things” Season 5, dropping on Netflix on December 31st at 8 p.m. ET, stars Finn Wolfhard and Natalia Dyer are dishing on more than just pizza toppings. In a new episode of The New York Times Cooking series “The Pizza Interview,” the duo revealed that co-star Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, is the undisputed best cook on set.
Wolfhard recounted a memorable steak and chimichurri sauce prepared by Keery, describing it as “simple, but like perfect.” Dyer also chimed in, praising a chicken dish Keery whipped up “like it was nothing.”
While Keery holds the title of culinary champion, Wolfhard shared his own passion for Asian cuisine, citing a recent kimchi stew success that redeemed a previously “too salty” Japanese hot pot dinner party.
Dyer also revealed the cast’s unfulfilled ambition to bond over cooking during the filming of Season 5. “We talked about doing many pizza nights when we shot the last season of Stranger Things,” Wolfhard recalled, “And then never did it, and always ended up maybe spending an hour and a half trying to figure out what we were going to end up ordering.”
As the penultimate episodes of Season 5 are available on Netflix, Dyer previously shared her bittersweet feelings about the show’s ending, describing it as “satisfied, but I was also very confused and sad, but also very happy…it felt perfect.”
With the finale just hours away, fans will have to wait and see if the ending is as perfect as Keery’s chimichurri.
