Thu Jan 01 01:00:00 UTC 2026: ## Nashville Gears Up for Massive New Year’s Eve Bash, Expecting 250,000 Attendees
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville is bracing for a massive New Year’s Eve celebration downtown, with an estimated 250,000 people expected to attend “Nashville’s Big Bash” at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The free event will feature live music from country stars Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Bailey Zimmerman, along with a fireworks display and the iconic Music Note Drop.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with DJ Case Bloom kicking off the entertainment. Emcee Kelly Sutton and Mayor Freddie O’Connell will officially welcome the crowds before the CBS broadcast begins at 7 p.m. The countdown to midnight will feature pyrotechnics and confetti, followed by a 90-second fireworks show.
With the massive crowds expected, authorities are emphasizing safety and urging attendees to plan ahead. “Keeping the attendees safe is the number one priority,” said Deana Ivey, CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation. Approximately 500 security personnel, including private security and Metro PD, will be on site, and fencing will be in place to manage the crowds. Attendees will be subject to security checks at one of the six entrances. A full list of permitted and prohibited items is available on the event website.
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office is reminding revelers to use rideshare options if they plan to drink. Organizers are also encouraging attendees to use designated shuttles, dress warmly, and avoid bringing bags to expedite security checks.
Road, parking, and sidewalk closures have already been implemented downtown and are expected to remain in effect until January 6th. Information on parking, scooter and bicycle parking, the New Year’s Eve Train, and WeGo bus routes can be found on the Visit Music City website.
