Thu Jan 01 13:48:15 UTC 2026: Teenage Girl Dies by Suicide in Bengaluru, Citing Parental Separation
Bengaluru, January 1, 2026 – A 17-year-old girl, identified as Lekhna, a class 10 student, has tragically taken her own life in Chennammanakere Achukattu, Bengaluru. Police reports indicate the suicide was driven by emotional distress resulting from her parents’ separation.
Lekhna, who had reportedly been skipping school, was living with her mother, a supermarket employee, while her parents lived separately due to ongoing family disputes. A preliminary investigation suggests that the separation deeply affected Lekhna, leading her to feel emotionally neglected.
A death note reportedly left by the teen stated that she felt a lack of love and affection from both parents and experienced intense loneliness. She accepted responsibility for her decision.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night. Lekhna’s body has been taken to KIMS Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case of unnatural death at the C.K. Acchukattu police station.
