Beane’s Bosa Gamble Pays Off Big for Bills, Fuels Super Bowl Hopes

ORCHARD PARK, NY – Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane has often faced criticism for his roster decisions, but a recent signing is silencing the doubters. Edge rusher Joey Bosa, brought in on a one-year, $12.6 million deal, is proving to be a game-changer for the Bills’ defense.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has lauded the move, ranking it among the best signings of the 2025 offseason. Bosa’s impact has been immediate and significant. In his debut season with Buffalo, the veteran has recorded five sacks, 45 pressures, 21 defensive stops, and five forced fumbles. His run-stop win rate of 29% places him among the league’s elite edge rushers.

“In an AFC playoff field that looks as open as ever, the Bills may be positioned to make an evasive Super Bowl appearance. In large part, that’s thanks to Bosa’s efforts along the team’s defensive line.” PFF’s Bradley Locker said.

Bosa’s individual performance is also drawing high praise. His 88.9 PFF pass-rush grade ranks sixth among qualified edge rushers this season, while his 15.8% pass-rush win rate is among the league’s best.

The Bills’ need for a dominant pass rusher was evident in their previous attempt to acquire Von Miller in 2022. While Miller initially showed promise, his season-ending injury derailed those plans. Now, Bosa appears to be the missing piece the Bills need to make a deep playoff run.
