Guwahati, Assam – December 29, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled arrival in Guwahati on Sunday, December 28, 2025, was delayed due to dense fog conditions. His flight was cancelled, forcing a postponement of the two-day Assam visit.
Shah is now expected to arrive in Guwahati on Monday morning for a packed, day-long itinerary.
The adjusted schedule will commence with a solemn tribute to the martyrs of the Assam Movement at the newly constructed ‘Swahid Smarak Kshetra’. Following this, he will travel to Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Vaishnava saint Srimanta Sankardeva in Nagaon district, where he will inaugurate the redeveloped spiritual site. A public rally is also planned in Borduwa.
Later in the day, back in Guwahati, Minister Shah is slated to inaugurate a new building for the police commissionerate along with an integrated command and control system (ICCS) designed to enhance the city’s security infrastructure. His final engagement will be the inauguration of the Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Complex, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 5,000.
