India Women Poised to Clinch T20I Series Against Sri Lanka
Thiruvananthapuram, India – December 26, 2025 – The Indian women’s cricket team is on the verge of securing a T20I series victory against Sri Lanka after setting itself a 113 runs target to win the final match today at the Greenfield International Stadium.
Sri Lanka, after losing the toss and being put in to bat first, managed to score 112 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Imesha Dulani top-scored for the visitors with 27 runs off 32 balls, supported by contributions from Hasini Perera (25), Kavisha Dilhari (20), and Kaushani Nuthyangana (19 not out).
Indian pacer Renuka Singh Thakur was the star performer with the ball, claiming an impressive four wickets. Veteran spinner Deepti Sharma provided valuable support, picking up three wickets.
Currently in the chase, India has scored 60 runs with the loss of one wicket in 7 overs.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team has already displayed dominant form in the series, securing convincing victories in the first two matches (8 and 7 wickets respectively).
For this crucial match, the Indian team made two changes to its playing XI, bringing in Renuka Singh Thakur and Deepti Sharma, while Sneha Rana and Arundhati Reddy were rested. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, made three changes to their lineup.
