New Delhi – December 23, 2025, 01:20 AM IST – Following the recent bust of an inter-state racket manufacturing and selling fake medicines, Delhi Police have apprehended two more suspects involved in the operation. Anil Singh Rawat, 46, and Rahul Agarwal, 31, were arrested on Monday for their alleged role in supplying packaging materials for spurious skin ointments, including those used to treat conditions like psoriasis.

A raid on a printing press located on Rama Road led to the discovery of packaging materials used in the fraudulent operation, according to police reports. The case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, covering charges of cheating, forgery, and dishonesty, along with relevant sections of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940.

“Anil [Singh Rawat] was operating a printing press on Rama Road, supplying printed wrapping boxes to Shree Ram, previously arrested in connection with the case, for use in the manufacture and sale of illegal, spurious ointment tubes,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Aditya Gautam. “Rahul Agarwal, residing in Nangli Mor, placed orders for printed wrapping boxes from another printing press, Khatu Shyam Printers, also situated on Rama Road.”

Authorities are expanding the investigation to identify and apprehend all parties involved in the supply chain, from sources of raw materials to the distribution network, with the goal of completely dismantling the entire spurious medicine and fake cosmetic operation. The investigation is ongoing.
