“Lucky” Liquor Store Strikes Gold Again: Sacramento Store Sells $1.97 Million Winning Powerball Ticket
Sacramento, CA – Lichine’s Liquor & Deli in Sacramento is once again basking in the glow of lottery luck after selling a winning Powerball ticket worth a staggering $1.97 million. The ticket, purchased at the store located at 7107 South Land Park Drive, matched five numbers in Saturday’s drawing: 1-28-31-57-58.
While the nationwide Powerball jackpot remains unclaimed at a colossal $1.1 billion, the Sacramento ticket holder is set to become a millionaire. The California Lottery reported approximately 412,000 winning tickets sold across the state in the same drawing.
Lichine’s Liquor & Deli has earned a reputation as a “lucky” store, drawing eager crowds whenever lottery jackpots soar.
“When we came in today (Sunday), a customer let us know,” said Ken Chang, an employee at Lichine’s. “We were just super busy yesterday. When I came in, it was another day at work, and when they let us know we sold one, I thought they were messing with us, and when we actually went online to check the results and verify, we were really happy.”
Powerball officials report that seven tickets nationwide worth over $1 million were sold in the Saturday drawing. The estimated cash value of the current jackpot is $503.4 million, making it the sixth-largest in Powerball history.
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday.
