Tiruchendur, India – December 14, 2025 – Devotees visiting the Subramaniyaswamy temple in Tiruchendur experienced unexpected difficulties today as sudden and significant sand erosion along the seashore created hazardous conditions. The rough sea, reportedly, is the cause behind the erosion, resulting in a 3- to 6-foot deep pit stretching approximately 200 feet along the beach near the temple. This has made it challenging and unsafe for devotees to perform the traditional ritual of bathing in the sea. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 14th, causing considerable inconvenience.
