Pune, India – December 12, 2025 – The Super League stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 kicked off with a series of exciting matches, showcasing both individual brilliance and surprising team results.

In a high-scoring affair, Punjab posted a large total thanks to a blistering innings from Salil Arora, who smashed a century in just 39 balls. However, Jharkhand successfully chased down the target, with Ishan Kishan and Virat Singh leading the charge.

Earlier in the day, Madhya Pradesh defeated Andhra Pradesh in a low-scoring encounter. Shivam Shukla’s impressive bowling spell, taking four wickets, helped restrict Andhra to a paltry 112. While Nitish Kumar Reddy took a hat trick, Andhra’s low score meant it was in vain.

Haryana secured a comfortable victory against Rajasthan, chasing down 133 with seven wickets to spare. Ankit Kumar’s half-century anchored the chase after Haryana’s bowlers restricted Rajasthan to 132.

The Super League stage has adopted a new format, replacing the traditional knockout system. The winners of each Super League group will compete for the title on December 18 at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
