Detroit Business Leader Kenneth Dalto Passes Away at 77

DETROIT, MI – Kenneth Dalto, founder and owner of Dalto Consulting Inc., a nationally recognized business turnaround company, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Known for his insightful leadership and unwavering integrity, Dalto leaves behind a legacy of revitalizing businesses and preserving thousands of jobs across the nation.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dalto possessed a sharp intellect and an insatiable curiosity that drove his success. After attending Queens College and Columbia University, he moved to Detroit in 1973 and quickly established himself in the business world. Over 35 years ago, he founded Dalto Consulting, assisting struggling businesses through management and financial expertise.

Dalto’s firm became a respected name, particularly in the automotive, real estate, manufacturing, and corporate restructuring sectors. He served in numerous leadership and court-appointed roles, guiding organizations through complex financial challenges, including Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court workouts, and mergers and acquisitions.

Beyond his business acumen, Dalto was a respected voice in the financial community. He was frequently quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and served as a sought-after speaker at industry events. His wide-ranging interests included music, movies, sports, and literature, making him a captivating conversationalist and mentor.

Dalto is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mari Solaka-Dalto, his brother Jerry D’Alto, sister, Barbara Swift, brother-in-law Joseph Solaka, wife Cynthia Solaka, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered as an intuitive, hardworking professional who offered clarity and stability to clients navigating uncertain times.

Memorial donations can be made in Ken’s honor to Tunnel 2 Towers. A celebration of life will be held in late Spring.
