Husband Charged with Murder in Grisly Death of Former Miss Switzerland Finalist

Binningen, Switzerland – Swiss authorities have charged Thomas, 43, with the murder of his wife, Kristina Joksimovic, 38, a former Miss Switzerland finalist. The Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday that Thomas is accused of strangling Joksimovic in their Binningen home in February 2024 before dismembering her body in a horrifying attempt to conceal the crime.

According to court documents and autopsy reports, Thomas allegedly used a jigsaw knife and garden shears to dismember his wife. Shockingly, investigators report that he removed Joksimovic’s womb, the only organ removed from her torso, and even used an industrial blender to pulverize some of her remains, which were then dissolved in a chemical solution. Police recovered the blender, along with skin flaps, muscle tissue, and bone fragments. Disturbingly, authorities also found that Thomas was watching YouTube videos during the dismemberment.

The discovery of Joksimovic’s remains was made by her father, who found blonde hair protruding from a black bag in the family’s laundry room.

Initially, Thomas claimed he found his wife dead, but later confessed to the murder in March, claiming self-defense after she allegedly attacked him with a knife. However, forensic evidence refuted this claim, revealing that Joksimovic was strangled.

Police documents described Thomas’s actions as displaying “a remarkably high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy, and cold-bloodedness.”

The couple shared two daughters. Thomas remains in custody and has been charged with murder and disturbing the peace. A trial date has not yet been set.

Kristina Joksimovic was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and was a finalist for Miss Switzerland in 2007. After her pageant career, she became a catwalk coach, mentoring models, including Dominique Rinderknecht before her Miss Universe 2013 appearance.
