Telangana Aims for $3 Trillion Green Economy by 2047
Hyderabad, India – December 8, 2025 – Telangana is setting its sights on a future powered by clean energy, with ambitious plans to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka unveiled the state’s “Vision 2047” at a Global Summit today, emphasizing energy transition, climate action, and inclusive growth as key pillars.
Vikramarka highlighted Telangana’s commitment to 100% clean mobility, with Hyderabad aiming to host India’s largest electric bus fleet by 2030. The state also plans to add 20 GW of new renewable energy capacity, building on its existing 11.4 GW.
While Telangana has already achieved 24/7 electricity and is a leader in per-capita power consumption, projections indicate a significant surge in demand, exceeding 1.39 lakh MW and 780 TWh by 2047. Meeting this demand will require a comprehensive approach, including large-scale renewable energy expansion, advanced battery and pumped storage systems, efficient thermal power, a strengthened transmission infrastructure, digitally managed distribution networks, and a robust financial ecosystem.
“Telangana is driven by both a national duty and a moral commitment to create a clean energy future,” Vikramarka stated. “We are reshaping our energy landscape to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for all.”
