Mon Dec 08 16:23:26 UTC 2025: Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal Call Off Wedding Amid Health Scares and Rumors

Mumbai, India – Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have announced the cancellation of their wedding, initially postponed due to unforeseen health emergencies. The couple, who announced their engagement in July 2024, were set to wed on November 23, 2025.

The postponement was triggered by a sudden health scare involving Mandhana’s father, Shriniwas, who was hospitalized with symptoms consistent with a heart-related issue on the morning of the wedding. Shortly after, Muchhal was also briefly hospitalized due to stress and exhaustion.

While the families initially stated the wedding would be rescheduled, persistent rumors surrounding Muchhal’s conduct began to circulate online. Allegations of infidelity and inappropriate digital communication surfaced, which Muchhal vehemently denies, threatening legal action against those spreading defamatory information.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Mandhana removed all pre-wedding photos and videos from her social media accounts, a move mirrored by several teammates and friends.

In separate statements, Mandhana and Muchhal confirmed the end of their relationship, citing the intense scrutiny and internal turmoil as insurmountable. Mandhana emphasized her desire for privacy and a return to focusing on her cricketing career, while Muchhal addressed the rumors head-on, condemning them as baseless and vowing legal action.

Mandhana and Muchhal, who met in 2019, maintained a largely private relationship until their engagement. The combination of health crises and the subsequent public speculation proved too much for the couple, leading to the abrupt end of their highly anticipated union.
