UConn Huskies to Face Army Black Knights in Wasabi Fenway Bowl

STORRS, CT – December 7, 2025 – The UConn Huskies (9-3) have accepted an invitation to the Wasabi Fenway Bowl for the second consecutive year. They will face the Army West Point Black Knights (6-4) on Saturday, December 27, at historic Fenway Park in Boston. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:15 PM and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

“We’re honored to accept the invitation to return to the Wasabi Fenway Bowl,” said Interim Head Coach Gordon Sammis. “Last year’s experience was memorable, and we’re excited to build on that success and create more special memories at historic Fenway Park.”

UConn is aiming for a historic 10-win season, a feat accomplished only once before in program history (1998). The Huskies boast impressive wins over ACC Champion Duke and Boston College and are one of only two teams in the country (along with #1 Indiana) to not lose a game in regulation this season. The Huskies have won nine-games in back-to-back seasons and their 18 wins during the last two years are the most in combined wins in back-to-back years in program history.

The offensive trio of quarterback Joe Fagnano, wide receiver Skyler Bell and running back Cam Edwards became the first in program history to eclipse 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards receiving and rushing in the same season. UConn is one of five teams nationally to have a 3,000 yard passer, 1,000 yard receiver and a 1,000 yard rusher. Bell also earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl, becoming the first UConn offensive skill position player to head to the prestigious all-star game since Dan Orlovsky in 2005.

Army enters the bowl game following their annual rivalry game against Navy in Baltimore, where the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy will be on the line. This will be Army’s 12th bowl appearance, with a 5-1 postseason record under Head Coach Jeff Monken.

UConn fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through the UConn Athletics website to benefit the athletic department. Visit UConnHuskies.com or follow @UConnHuskies and @UConnFootball on social media for more information.
