Mon Dec 08 13:43:22 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad: Nepali Nationals Arrested for Robbing Retired Army Officer

Hyderabad, December 8, 2025 – Five Nepali nationals have been apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone, and Karkhana police in connection with the assault and robbery of a retired Army officer at his residence in Karkhana.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Raj Bahadur Shahi (36), Mahendra Bahadur Shahi (39), Gorkhe Bhadhur Kamee (40), Amit Bisukarma (22), and Subhash Tamata (19).

According to police reports, the group targeted Capt. D.K. Giri (Retd.) at his home in Gunrock Enclave, confining and assaulting him before making off with approximately 23 tolas of gold ornaments and ₹95,000 in cash. Several other individuals are believed to be involved in the crime and remain at large.

Investigators revealed that the group infiltrated the victim’s home by posing as domestic workers. Raj Bahadur Shahi and Rekha Devi Rawal were allegedly planted in the household through an agency, masquerading as a married couple. The group then coordinated in Tolichowki, meticulously planning the robbery.

“During the night of November 15 and 16, the accused forced their way into the house, tied up the victim, assaulted him, stole jewelry, and searched the premises before fleeing with valuables,” an officer stated. The suspects reportedly divided the stolen goods, deactivated their mobile phones, and dispersed from the city in separate groups.

The arrests led to the recovery of 73.35 grams of gold ornaments, 22.90 grams of silver ornaments, a Rolex wristwatch, ₹43,050 in cash, and five mobile phones. The total value of the recovered items is estimated at approximately ₹10 lakh.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects.
