Sat Dec 06 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## UNLV Quarterback Anthony Colandrea Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year

Las Vegas, NV – UNLV Rebels quarterback Anthony Colandrea has been named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. The junior signal-caller led the conference in nearly every statistical category, capping off a stellar season that has propelled the Rebels to the Mountain West Championship game against Boise State this Friday.

Colandrea completed 238 of 349 passes for a conference-best 3,050 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also added 555 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. His 68.2% completion percentage is on pace to set a new school record. He is the first UNLV quarterback to win the award since College Football Hall of Famer Randall Cunningham in 1983 and 1984.

“It’s an awesome accomplishment, but it doesn’t happen without all my teammates,” Colandrea said, crediting his fellow Rebels for his success.

Offensive coordinator Corey Dennis praised Colandrea’s work ethic and passion for the game. “He has come in and worked every single day. He’s always had the talent, but he has really worked his craft,” Dennis said.

Joining Colandrea with all-conference honors, junior running back Jai’Den “Jet” Thomas was named a first-team selection. Thomas leads college football in yards per carry (7.43).

The Rebels will face Boise State in the Mountain West Championship game this Friday in Boise, Idaho. Despite losing to the Broncos earlier in the season, the Rebels’ defense has shown marked improvement under coordinator Paul Guenther.
