Sat Dec 06 02:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Lawyers’ Plea to Postpone APP Exam Rejected
Hyderabad, Telangana – The Telangana High Court has declined to intervene in the scheduled Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) examination set for December 14th, dismissing a petition from a group of practicing lawyers who argued the date clashes with the upcoming gram panchayat elections.
The lawyers argued that the simultaneous scheduling of the APP exam and the sarpanch elections would effectively disenfranchise them, preventing them from exercising their right to vote.
However, a division bench comprising Justice P. Sam Koshy and Justice Suddala Chalapathi Rao refused to grant any interim relief or stay the examination. The court emphasized that it could not lightly interfere with established recruitment timelines and that scheduling matters fall under the purview of the Telangana State-Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB).
While the court acknowledged the lawyers’ concerns, it directed them to submit a formal representation to the TSLPRB. The board has been instructed to consider the request and make an appropriate decision as soon as possible. The court’s decision effectively allows the APP exam to proceed as scheduled on December 14th, while leaving the door open for potential accommodations by the TSLPRB.
