Ongole, December 6, 2025 – Markapuram police successfully intervened early Saturday morning to prevent a 26-year-old man from Kanigiri village from taking his own life on a local flyover.

According to authorities, the police control room received an emergency 112 alert indicating that a distressed individual was heading toward the flyover. Circle Inspector P. Subba Rao and Sub-Inspector Ankamma Rao swiftly responded to the scene. They located the man and, through careful conversation and understanding, persuaded him to abandon his suicide attempt.

Following the successful intervention, the police provided counseling to the man before releasing him into the care of his family.
