MYSURU, December 6, 2025 – H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel and Member of Parliament for Mandya, stepped in to alleviate the financial distress of teachers at Mysugar School in Mandya, Karnataka, who have gone without salaries for nearly 15 months. On December 6th, Minister Kumaraswamy personally delivered a cheque of ₹19,94,200 to the school management, drawn from his own parliamentary salary.
“Working without pay is extremely difficult, and I fully understand your suffering,” Kumaraswamy stated during his visit to the historic institution. He reiterated his commitment to standing by the teachers during this crisis, adding, “I had assured you that I would stand by you during this crisis, and I have kept my word.”
Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of Mysugar School to the region and pledged to appeal to the State government to ensure its survival.
