Wed Dec 03 11:28:11 UTC 2025: Bengaluru’s Science Gallery Hosts “Namma Oota” Food Festival, Exploring Future of Food

Bengaluru, India – December 3, 2025 – The Science Gallery in Bengaluru is currently hosting “Namma Oota,” a curated food festival, as part of its year-long “Calorie” exhibition. The event aims to delve into our relationship with food, nutrition, and agriculture through a relaxed and accessible lens.

“Namma Oota” features a variety of food stalls, including Wallflour Patisserie & Kitchen, where visitors can customize their desserts, and The Cubbon Table, offering small-batch products rooted in regional preservation and fermentation traditions. Aruvu Collaboratory is showcasing fresh produce and millet dishes from Channapatna and Bidar, while the non-profit ATREE is introducing edible insects like silkworm Manchurian and chili garlic crickets from their research on sustainable development.

“We want visitors to think about how we understand nutrition, what shapes our food systems and how our choices affect the world around us,” said Jahnavi Phalkey, Founding Director of the Science Gallery.

In addition to the food stalls, the festival includes talks by experts, such as culinary anthropologist Kurush Feroze Dalal, who will present a public lecture on the connection between food and memories.

Namma Oota takes place December 6-7 at The Science Gallery, Bellary Road. Entry is free.
