27th Madurai International Documentary and Short Film Festival to Showcase Global Talent
MADURAI, INDIA – December 5, 2025 – The Marupakkam Film Collective, in collaboration with educational institutions, cultural organizations, and film societies, is set to host the 27th Madurai International Documentary and Short Film Festival from December 6th to 10th. The festival will showcase 97 films from 24 countries across various genres, including documentaries, short fiction, animation, experimental films, and music videos.
Director of Marupakkam Film Collective, R.P. Amudhan, announced that approximately 20 filmmakers from across India will participate in the event, presenting their films and engaging in post-screening discussions with the audience.
Screenings will take place at multiple venues throughout the city. The primary venue, LENS Media Centre (Gnana Olivupuram), will host screenings from December 6th to 10th, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with registration and delegate passes required. A special day show will be held at IDEAS Centre on December 7th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with free entry, while evening shows at Kaleidoscope Hall will take place from December 6th to 10th, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with free entry.
