Fri Dec 05 02:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Injury-Riddled 76ers Set to Host Defensive-Minded Warriors
Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia 76ers are set to face off against the Golden State Warriors tonight at Xfinity Mobile Arena in a matchup plagued by potential injuries to key players. Both teams enter the game with a 2-3 record in their last five outings, but the game starts at 8:30 ET on NBA TV and will be a tripleheader.
The 76ers are coming off a comfortable 121-102 victory over the Washington Wizards, while the Warriors are reeling from a 124-112 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, despite leading in the fourth quarter.
However, the potential absence of star power looms large. The 76ers could be without Joel Embiid (knee) and Quentin Grimes (calf), with their availability to be determined close to tipoff. On the Warriors side, Stephen Curry is sidelined with a quadriceps injury until at least mid-December, and Jimmy Butler is questionable after suffering a knee injury in their previous game.
Despite these potential absences, 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is poised to continue his stellar performance. He has been averaging 31.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 2.0 steals over his last 10 games.
While historically known for their offensive firepower, this year’s Warriors team has leaned heavily into their defense, ranking in the top 10 in both defensive rating (7th) and points allowed per game (9th). Their defensive prowess will be put to the test tonight, especially with the potential absences of Curry and Butler.
The Warriors also rank 4th in steals per game so Maxey will have to be careful with the ball as the 76ers main playmaker.
