Lucas Community Mourns the Loss of Roberta Darlene Hess

ONTARIO, Ohio – Roberta Darlene Hess, a beloved member of the Lucas, Ohio community, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 31, 1948, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Audrey (Davis) Turner.

A proud graduate of Lucas High School, Roberta was known for her creativity, humor, and caring spirit. She dedicated many years to her work, including roles at Marco Photo and The Landings, where she was valued for her dedication and warmth. She was passionate about crafting, cooking (always taste-testing), and creating whimsical fairy gardens.

Roberta shared 36 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John Louis Hess, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Janese R. Jones; son, John L. (Christina) Hess, Jr.; sister, Peggy A. Nusbaum; brother, Ronald G. Turner; six grandchildren: Rick (Crystal) Hess, Makayla Hess, Patrick Soda, Kyle Jones, Luke Hess, and Dominique; and seven great-grandchildren: Jayden, Bryston, Aaliyah, Tristyn, Alexiyah, Kylan, and Amelia.
