NEW YORK, NY – Nearly 15 years after the final Harry Potter film premiered, Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton, known for their iconic roles as Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, delighted fans with a reunion at a screening of the film adaptation of “Merrily We Roll Along” in New York. The pair, once rivals on-screen, were photographed sharing a warm side hug and broad smiles, showcasing a friendship that has endured beyond the wizarding world.
Radcliffe, who starred in the 2023 Broadway revival of “Merrily We Roll Along,” sported a casual denim jacket and brown T-shirt for the event. Felton, currently starring in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway, donned a stylish caramel peacoat.
Felton revealed that Radcliffe inspired his move to Broadway. “I’ve taken a few tips from Potter,” Felton joked on “Good Morning America” in November, “He was one of the early inspirations for me to come to Broadway. I think I saw him during his first show 10-plus years ago and now he’s a Tony winner and a big inspiration for why Broadway is so special.”
Despite Felton’s Broadway aspirations, Radcliffe has stated that he isn’t interested in reprising his role as Harry Potter. “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK, and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life,” Radcliffe told the New York Times in 2022.
The reunion provided a heartwarming moment for Harry Potter fans, highlighting the enduring bonds formed during the decade-long film franchise.
