Born in 1939, M. Saravanan, often referred to as AVM Saravanan, played a pivotal role in shaping Tamil cinema. He, alongside his brother, M. Balasubramanian, assisted their father, the legendary A.V. Meiyappan, in managing AVM Studios from the 1950s, contributing significantly to its legacy.
Saravanan produced a string of successful Tamil films, including Naanum Oru Penn, Murattu Kaalai, Sakalakala Vallavan, Uyarndha Ullam, Manithan, Samsaram Adhu Minsaram, Minsara Kanavu, Sivaji: The Boss, and Ayan.
