Rayachoti, Andhra Pradesh – December 3, 2025 (7:00 PM IST) – Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy reiterated the state government’s dedication to improving farmer welfare during the district-level “Raitanna Mee Kosam” program held in Annamayya district on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Rythu Seva Kendram in Gorla Mudivedu village, Mr. Reddy hailed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “Raitanna Mee Kosam” initiative as a direct line of communication between farmers and the government, highlighting its “innovative and farmer-centric governance model.” He emphasized that the program aims to directly address farmers’ grievances, crop-related issues, and field challenges, ensuring they reach the Chief Minister for swift action. He contrasted this approach with the previous YSR Congress Party regime, accusing them of neglecting agrarian issues and making false promises to farmers.
Mr. Reddy outlined several initiatives undertaken by the government to support the agricultural sector, including providing quality seeds, timely fertilizer supply, and enhanced crop insurance. He stated that ₹6,310 crore has already been credited to the accounts of 46.85 lakh farmers under the PM-KISAN and Annadata Sukhibhava schemes.
Furthermore, the government has allocated ₹1,654 crore towards micro-irrigation systems, offering subsidies of up to 90%. Mr. Reddy also noted that efforts such as desiltation of canals, timely water release, rainwater harvesting, and river-linking are progressing rapidly to revitalize the state’s agricultural economy.
Senior officials from the Agriculture and allied departments, along with local farmers, were present at the “Raitanna Mee Kosam” program.
