Telangana Gram Panchayat Elections: Nomination Deadline Looms as Second Phase Preparations Intensify

Hyderabad, India – December 2, 2025 – With the deadline for nominations in the second phase of the Telangana Gram Panchayat Elections 2025 drawing to a close today, authorities are ramping up preparations for the polls slated for December 14th. As of Monday, December 1st, a total of 12,479 nominations have been filed for the 4,332 Sarpanch (village head) posts, and 30,040 nominations for the 38,342 wards.

District election authorities are actively engaged in poll-related activities across the state. In Vikarabad, General Observer Shaik Yasmeen Basha inspected nomination receiving centers in Nawabpet and Ekmamidi, also reviewing the activity within the District Collectorate’s Control Room.

Mahbubnagar Collector Viziendira Boyi convened a meeting with political party representatives, urging them to ensure peaceful and transparent elections. Boyi also clarified that if a nomination is rejected by the Returning Officer, an appeal can be filed with the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), whose decision will be final.

Gadwal District Collector B.M. Santosh conducted a training program for Returning Officers for the second phase polling. He outlined the election day schedule, stating that polling will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by vote counting at 2:00 p.m. on December 14th.
