GUNTUR, Andhra Pradesh – December 1, 2025 – Guntur District CCS police have successfully apprehended two inter-state burglars and a receiver of stolen property, recovering gold and silver ornaments valued at ₹26.5 lakh. The arrests are connected to four separate house-theft cases across the district.

District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal announced the arrests during a press briefing held at the District Police Office on Monday evening, commending the CCS and Lalapeta police teams for their swift and effective investigation.

The arrested burglars have been identified as Chillara Suresh, 38, a repeat offender from Gorantla in Guntur, and Kaja Nagaveera Bhaskar Rao, 24, of Ramalingeswara Nagar in Vijayawada. Their capture follows an investigation into a burglary reported on November 12th in Sampath Nagar. The victim, Venkata Appayya Shastri, reported the theft of 152 grams of gold upon returning home from a trip to Tirupati.

“Through technical surveillance and intelligence gathering focused on known offenders, our officers were able to track and detain the suspects in Lalapeta earlier today,” stated SP Jindal. “The suspects have confessed to involvement in three additional burglaries in Lalapeta, Nagarampalem, and Pattabhipuram.”

Authorities recovered a total of 227 grams of gold and 182 grams of silver allegedly stolen by the duo. Lanka Rajesh, 40, of Sugali Nagar, was also arrested for purchasing stolen jewelry from the burglars.
