KPCC President Calls ED Notice to Kerala CM “A Joke,” Alleges BJP-CPI(M) Collusion
Kozhikode, Kerala – December 1, 2025 – Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph today dismissed the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) recent notice served to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the masala bond probe as a “joke.” Speaking to reporters in Kozhikode, Mr. Joseph asserted that the notice would meet the same fate as previous ED actions against the Chief Minister and his son, referencing stalled investigations into the gold smuggling and Lavlin cases.
Mr. Joseph further alleged a tacit understanding between the BJP and the CPI(M), suggesting the ED notice was designed to provide support to Mr. Vijayan during the upcoming election period. He stated his belief that the investigation would ultimately yield no significant results.
Shifting the focus, Mr. Joseph highlighted the alleged gold theft at the Sabarimala temple, accusing the CPI(M) of shielding the perpetrators, even those caught “red-handed.”
Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala echoed Mr. Joseph’s sentiments, reiterating the claim of a pre-arranged understanding behind the ED action. He stated that the Congress party would only welcome the investigation if it were conducted with genuine integrity.
