“Landman” Season 2 Explodes onto Paramount+ with Record-Breaking Viewership
LOS ANGELES, CA – November 18, 2024 – Taylor Sheridan’s critically acclaimed drama, “Landman,” has returned with a vengeance, shattering viewership records for its highly anticipated second season premiere on Paramount+. The first episode, which aired on Sunday, November 16th, garnered a staggering 9.2 million views in its first two days, according to a press release from Paramount+.
This represents a monumental 262% increase in viewership compared to the first season premiere, making “Landman” Season 2 the most-watched premiere for any original series on the Paramount+ streaming platform.
Set against the backdrop of the cutthroat West Texas oil boom, “Landman” delves into the complex world of oil rigs, wildcat billionaires, and the everyday roughnecks who fuel a global industry. Season 2 promises even higher stakes as secrets rise along with oil prices, pushing Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris to his breaking point. Demi Moore, whose character Cami Miller takes center stage this season, hinted at the season’s explosive beginning, teasing, “It gets juicy.”
Co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the series is inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly. It explores the far-reaching impact of the oil industry, touching on climate change, economic shifts, and global geopolitics.
New episodes of “Landman” Season 2 will be released weekly on Paramount+ every Sunday at midnight ET (Saturday at 9 p.m. PT). Episode 2, titled “Sins of the Father,” will be available on November 23rd. The season will consist of 10 episodes. Season 1 is also available to stream on Paramount+.
