Hyderabad, India – November 24, 2025 – Hyderabad authorities have made several arrests in a major crackdown on illegal cannabis (ganja) activity across the city, seizing significant quantities of the substance.

The State Task Force – D team apprehended Sravanapu Nitish Kumar Reddy and Chelimela Vijayakumar in Aditya Nagar on Monday following a raid, seizing 7.2 kilograms of ganja, mobile phones, and a two-wheeler allegedly used for transporting the contraband. Investigations revealed that the suspects, residents of Nellore district, were operating out of Begumpet’s Old Customs Colony and involved in local ganja supply.

In a separate operation, Excise officials arrested Katta Ganesh in LB Nagar Circle on Sunday. Ganesh, a resident of Sarangapur mandal in Jagtial, was allegedly selling ganja to friends and regular customers. Authorities seized 7.75 kilograms of ganja from his possession.
