District Collectors in Kallakurichi and Ramanathapuram have declared holidays, with similar announcements coming from Puducherry Home Minister A. Namassivayam for Puducherry and Karaikal. Other districts declaring school holidays include Virudhunagar, Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur, and Karur.
