Mon Nov 24 12:40:00 UTC 2025: Barcelona’s Rashford Ready to Face Chelsea in Champions League Clash
LONDON – Marcus Rashford is set to feature for Barcelona in their crucial Champions League match against Chelsea in London this Tuesday after recovering from a bout of flu. The on-loan Manchester United forward missed Barcelona’s recent 4-0 LaLiga victory over Athletic Club, but has since rejoined his teammates in training and will travel with the squad to Stamford Bridge.
Rashford has been in impressive form for Barça in Europe this season, netting four goals in four appearances, including a brace against Newcastle United. In total, he has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.
His return provides coach Hansi Flick with a selection headache, as he now has five players vying for three attacking positions. The likes of Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal all started in the win against Athletic, with Raphinha making his return from a two-month injury layoff as a substitute.
Barcelona are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in their previous Champions League fixture. Both Barcelona and Chelsea have seven points from their first four games.
In other news, Barcelona are reportedly close to agreeing a new long-term contract with defender Eric García, who has become an important player under Flick.
