Sun Nov 23 04:10:00 UTC 2025: ## McLaren Unveils ‘Scratch Car’ in Vegas, Norris Focused on Wins Despite Championship Lead
Las Vegas, NV – McLaren made a splash ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, unveiling a first-of-its-kind, life-size Formula One “scratch car.” The unique promotional piece added to the excitement building around the highly anticipated race.
Meanwhile, McLaren driver Lando Norris, currently leading the championship standings, insists he’s not about to play it safe, despite having a comfortable 24-point lead over teammate Oscar Piastri and a 49-point advantage over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
With just three races remaining, Norris could technically secure his maiden championship by finishing second to Piastri in each of them. However, the British driver emphasized his focus remains on winning.
“What has served me so well recently is by going flat out, staying out of trouble and the chaos behind,” Norris stated. “So protecting my championship lead is not the right mindset to have. I come here to win. I’ll go to the next race in Qatar to win. I will still treat it as if I’m not in a championship.”
Norris’s shift in momentum has been significant. After a disappointing Dutch Grand Prix in August, he’s since surged to the top with consecutive victories from pole position in Mexico and Brazil. He credits his improved performance to a supportive team and a more positive mindset.
“I have a very strong group of people around me to support me, to direct me and help me whether I have had a good weekend or a bad weekend,” Norris explained. “I’m also more positive and less negative about when I have bad days and bad sessions.”
Despite Verstappen’s slim mathematical chance of securing his fifth consecutive title, the Red Bull driver admitted his chances are dwindling. “I am a long way behind, and there is not a lot I can do,” Verstappen said. “We need a lot of luck until the end, so personally I am not thinking about it too much.”
The Las Vegas Grand Prix promises to be a thrilling event, with Norris aiming for another victory and Verstappen hoping for a miracle, all while McLaren continues to wow fans both on and off the track.
