Betul, Madhya Pradesh – November 23, 2025 – A fire erupted in a storeroom at the Betul District Hospital this morning, but prompt action by hospital staff prevented a major incident. The blaze, triggered by a short circuit in the kitchen area storeroom around 9:20 AM, was contained and extinguished within ten minutes.

As a precautionary measure, patients from the female and paediatric wards were temporarily relocated to ensure their safety. Hospital civil surgeon Dr. Rupesh Padmakar and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Ranu Verma were immediately on the scene.

Dr. Padmakar credited the swift response of an electrician and his assistant, who quickly cut off the power supply and utilized fire extinguishers to control the flames.
